Nigerian professor of political economy, Pat Utomi, has reacted to a viral video showing traders booing All Progressives Congress (APC) promoters at a market in Abuja.
The trending video captured traders and marketers at Banex Plaza in Wuse 2 chanting “Na Peter Obi we want,” after APC members attempted to campaign in the area by putting up campaign banners for President Bola Tinubu.
The clip has sparked mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians interpreting it as a rejection of the ruling party, while others argued that the traders present were largely Peter Obi’s kinsmen.
Reacting to the video, Utomi said supporters of Obi, popularly known as Obidients, cannot be intimidated, describing the energy shown in the footage as extraordinary.
“One of the beautiful things about Peter Obi is that his supporters are not the kind of people you can intimidate. The energy in this video is extraordinary. Nigeria will definitely be OK in 2027,” Utomi wrote on his official X handle.
