Burna Boy has been announced as the headline act for the NFL’s 2026 Paris Game halftime show, and Afrobeats is about to gatecrash American football’s biggest stage in Europe.
The Grammy-winning superstar will perform at Stade de France in Saint-Denis on Sunday, October 25, 2026, when the Pittsburgh Steelers face the New Orleans Saints in the NFL’s first-ever regular-season game on French soil. He joins a lineup that also includes Jonas Brothers, Ricky Martin, Ayra Starr, Cage The Elephant and The Warning.
This isn’t Burna Boy’s first rodeo at the venue — in April 2025, he became the first African artist to headline a solo concert at Stade de France, selling out all 80,000 tickets. He says the return is a chance to represent African music on one of the world’s biggest stages, while NFL officials note that African music already has a serious presence in Paris.
American football fans may be about to learn what “gbedu” means, whether they’re ready or not.
