Being a young adult can come with a lot of pressure. Many people feel that they should already have a good job, make enough money, know their career, or have their future planned out. Family, friends, and social media can make this pressure even stronger.
Seeing other people succeed can make us feel like we are behind. But the truth is, everyone has a different path. Not having everything figured out does not mean you are failing.
What Can We Do?
The first step is to stop comparing your life to other people’s lives. Social media only shows part of the story. Focus on your own progress, even if it is small.
It is also good to set small and realistic goals instead of trying to plan your whole life at once. Talk to people you trust when you feel lost, and do not be afraid to change your plans when something is not working.
Most importantly, remember that there is no perfect age to have life figured out. Take your time, learn from your experiences, and focus on becoming better one step at a time.
