Sometimes, someone can give you a lot of attention and make you feel special. They text you often, check on you, compliment you, and always want to talk to you.

But does that mean they are genuinely interested in you? Not always.

Attention is when someone enjoys talking to you or spending time with you, but it may not go much deeper than that.

For example, they may text you when they are bored, like your pictures, or give you compliments. They can make you feel wanted, but their actions may not show that they truly care about you.

Attention can also come and go. One day they are very interested, and the next day they disappear. 😅

Genuine Interest

Genuine interest goes deeper.

Someone who is genuinely interested in you wants to know you better. They care about how you feel, remember things you tell them, respect your boundaries, and make an effort to stay connected.

They don’t only show up when it is convenient for them.

Most importantly, their actions match their words.

How Can You Tell the Difference?

Ask yourself a few simple questions:

• Do they only talk to me when they need something?
• Do they remember the little things I tell them?
• Do they make an effort to know me?
• Are they there even when there is nothing to gain?
• Do they respect my feelings and boundaries?
• Is their effort consistent?

If someone gives you attention but never makes a real effort to know or support you, it may just be attention.

Don’t Confuse Attention With Care

It is easy to get excited when someone constantly texts you or gives you compliments. But real interest is not just about how much someone talks to you.

It is about how they treat you over time.

Someone can give you attention without truly caring, while someone who genuinely likes you will usually show it through consistent actions.

So, don’t just look at how much attention someone gives you. Look at the effort, consistency, respect, and care behind it. ❤️
