Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has reacted on social media after making history in Turkey, and he has a brand new nickname to go with it: “Agabey.”

The 30-year-old posted a picture of himself on Instagram in traditional Turkish dress, with the caption: “We go ball till eternity, Kelechi Agabey.” In Turkish, “Agabey” is a respectful title that means “Big Brother” or “Boss.”

The celebration comes after Iheanacho scored twice and provided an assist as Bursaspor beat Muglaspor 3-0 in the Turkish 1. Lig on Thursday.

With that, he has now scored in 10 straight league games, becoming the first player ever to do so in Turkish professional league football. He has scored in every single game he has played for Bursaspor, and if you add his appearance for the Super Eagles, he has found the net in 11 matches in a row. Since joining from Celtic, he has 14 goals and three assists.

On the night, the former Manchester City and Leicester City striker thought he had opened the scoring in the 51st minute, but the goal was ruled out for offside after a VAR check. Seven minutes later, he made no mistake to make it 1-0, then completed his brace in the 79th minute. Four minutes after that, he set up substitute Hüseyin Maldar for the third goal.

The win moves Bursaspor up to second in the Turkish 1. Lig with 22 points. That is two points clear of third-placed Iğdır FK and three behind leaders Kayserispor. Second place is one of the two automatic promotion spots to the Turkish Super Lig.

Bursaspor are back in action on Monday, when they host Pendikspor.

Should Iheanacho be back in the Super Eagles squad with this form? 👇
