Bandits have reportedly abducted a Supervisory Councillor for Special Duties in Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Lamido Muhammad, along with his two sons.
The victims have been identified as Aliyu Lamido and Amir Lamido. As of the time of filing this report, their whereabouts remained unknown.
According to Bakatsine, a conflict journalist covering North-West Nigeria, the assailants stormed Muhammad’s residence in Wucicciri, Abba area of Zaria, around midnight on Sunday and abducted the three family members.
Bakatsine shared the incident in a post, raising concerns over the persistent threat of abductions and the safety of residents in the region. He called on the authorities to take decisive action to protect lives and restore security, questioning how long families would continue to live in fear of abduction.
The incident adds to growing concerns over insecurity in parts of Kaduna State and the wider North-West, where armed groups have continued to carry out kidnappings and attacks on communities.
